Former Northern Cricket Union bookkeeper Prishne Khan has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for fraud and theft amounting to R3 million by the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
She has been on the run for a year, after absconding from her trial last year after she was found guilty of the charges.
Khan was found hiding inside a freezer in her new home in Nigel in Ekurhuleni where she was arrested last Friday.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana says, Khan was employed as a bookkeeper at Northern Cricket Union when she stole the R350 000 by altering her banking details on invoices, replacing them with those of her husband and cousin.
Mahanjana says, After she resigned from Northern Cricket Union, she became the finance manager at Customer Loyalty Consultant where she also defrauded the company over R3 million."
