Ethiopian Nationals Suspected In Trafficking Ring Back In Court
Twenty-eight Ethiopian nationals believed to be victims of human trafficking are appearing in separate courts this week charged with being in the country illegally.
Each faces one count of contravening the Immigration Act.
They were found naked and held captive inside a house in Sandringham, Johannesburg last Thursday.
Three Ethiopian nationals were arrested on suspicion of trafficking in persons, kidnapping, extortion and contravening the Immigration Act.
Due to the court schedule, the 28 Ethiopian nationals have been appearing in three separate courtrooms before different magistrates throughout this week.
