Ethekwini Electricity Contractors Threaten To Down Tools

Electricity contractors working for the eThekwini Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal have issued a warning that they will stop working on Monday if they are not paid. These contractors have not received payment for over four months and gathered outside Durban City Hall to demand a meeting with municipal authorities.

Bandile Sibiya, President of the eThekwini Electrical Workforce, stated that they will cease work from Monday unless the issue of unpaid salaries is resolved, highlighting the financial strain during the festive season.

eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba mentioned that the city's executive council is currently addressing the situation.
