Ethekwini Electrical Companies Threaten To Down Tools On Monday

Electrical companies that the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal has contracted are threatening to down tools on Monday should the municipality fail to pay them.

Some of the contractors claim that the municipality has not paid them for over four months.

Bandile Sibiya is president of the eThekwini Electrical Workforce, We are sending a message to the municipal authorities that on Monday, we put our tools down, we cant commence any work if they cant resolve this issue, especially the first priority of which is our salaries.

Remember it is the festive season, in a festive season were supposed to make our families happy, but we are failing to do so because we dont have money that we are supposed to have or the money that we already worked . We want to tell the authorities and let the community know that weve got this crisis, so that if we do not commence any work on Monday, they must know what is the reason why we are not on the field.
