Eskom Bolsters Leadership With Appointment Of Former Sasol Gas Vp
Eskom has appointed Alfred Seema as Group Executive for Strategic Delivery in preparation for a competitive marketplace.
Seema joins Eskom from Sasol where he held the position of Vice President Gas Sourcing and Business Development. With over 25 years of experience in gas, project development and programme management, Seema brings expertise from the energy and petrochemical sectors, including tenure at PetroSA.

Seemas appointment aligns with Eskoms strategic focus for the next three years, which includes
- Increasing energy availability factor to 70 within 12-36 months.
- Adding over 2,5 GW of capacity to the grid by March 2025 and establishing an initial pipeline of at least 2 GW of clean energy projects by 2026.
- Re-baselining the cost trajectory and improving operational efficiencies.
- Pursuing sustainable solutions to address municipal debt challenges.
- Completing the unbundling of Eskoms distribution and generation divisions.
- Accelerating the implementation of initiatives supporting the Just Energy Transition.
