Eskom Announces Stage 3 Loadshedding, Effective Today

Power utility Eskom has announced that stage three loadshedding will be implemented today at 5pm, reports Cape town Etc .

In addition, loadshedding is also expected to carry on through the weekend, according to a Facebook post made by the City of Cape Town .

The City will as always do all in its power to protect its customers as far as possible, the City stated.

Loadshedding protection of up to two stages has been planned for where feasible, the City added.

Earlier today, Eskom issued an alert that indicated a high risk of loadshedding at short notice, after more than 10 months of uninterrupted electricity supply due to the Generation Recovery Plan.
