Former Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given has criticized Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for his limited use of England international Jack Grealish since his arrival at the club.
Grealish, who has struggled to make a significant impact at Manchester City, is often utilized as a fringe player in Guardiola's plans. The 29-year-old has registered just one assist in nine Premier League appearances this season, as City faces challenges with their form.
Given, who played with Grealish at Aston Villa, expressed frustration over what he sees as the wasted potential of his "generational talent" former teammate under Guardiola. Speaking on the BBC's Football Daily, Given suggested that Grealish has been played out of position, which he believes has hindered his success at the club.
