Epl: Man Utds Amad Diallo Breaks African Players Record, Surpasses Ighalo, Others

Manchester United star, Amad Diallo has made history following his hat-trick for the club in their Premier League 3-1 win against Southampton at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Man Uniteds official website confirmed that the Ivorian is the first African player to score a hat-trick for the club and the only Red Devils player to score one in the Premier League at a younger age is club legend Wayne Rooney.

Diallos record-breaking performance for the most goals in a single game for Man United made him the first African player to do so, with only Odion Ighalo and Quinton Fortune previously managing to score multiple goals 2 in a match.

The 22-year-old is also the third Man United player to score a treble from the 80th minute onwards, following in the footsteps of former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Recall that Fortune scored a brace against South Melbourne in the 2000 Club World Championship on January 11, 2000.
