Enyobeni Tavern Inquest To Continue, Patrons Expected To Testify

The inquest into the Enyobeni tavern tragedy is set to continue in the East London Regional Court sitting in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape today.

More patrons are expected to testify in the inquest into the deaths of 21 young people at the tavern in June 2022.

The previous sitting of the inquest ended with the testimony of a former bouncer at the tavern, Siphamandla Dali.

He said that he and two colleagues tried to control the overcrowding at the tavern.

During his testimony, Dali told the court that he was on duty with Thembisa Diko on the night of the incident.
