Emotional Jesus Navas Bids Farewell To Football Career
Spanish football legend Jesus Navas tearfully announced his retirement on Monday in an emotional farewell ceremony at Sevillas Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium. The 39-year-old winger, who has had an illustrious career with both Sevilla and the Spanish national team, will officially retire on December 31 due to a chronic hip injury that has plagued him in recent seasons.
Navas, who made 705 appearances for Sevilla and won 15 major trophies, expressed his sorrow at having to end his career, saying, If it hadnt been for my hip, I would have continued, thats for sure.
During the tribute, which was attended by around 45,000 fans, Navas fought back tears as he reflected on his career. He was presented with a framed jersey commemorating his 705 appearances and was joined by his family for the heartfelt occasion.
Navas career highlights include winning the 2010 World Cup, Euro 2012, and multiple titles with both Spain and Sevilla. His departure marks the end of an era, with fellow players such as Rodri and Sergio Ramos praising him as a role model and the greatest legend of Sevilla FC.
