Emirship Tussle No Going Back On Installation Of Bichi District Head Sanusi
KANO The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has reaffirmed his commitment to the installation of the newly appointed District Head of Bichi, Munir Sanusi, and his assumption of office at the Bichi palace.
Speaking on Wednesday during a solidarity visit by a delegation from Bichi, Emir Sanusi stated that despite recent disruptions, the installation would proceed as planned.
It can be recalled that last Friday, heavy security operatives, including personnel from the police and the Department of State Services DSS, reportedly blocked the Kofar Kudu Emirs palace to prevent Emir Sanusi from accompanying the new Wambai of Kano and District Head of Bichi to assume his seat. The action led to restrictions on movement in and out of the palace.
Addressing the delegation, Emir Sanusi described the incident as a temporary setback.
