Ekurhuleni Dems Continues To Investigate Blaze At Industrial Factory

Ekurhuleni Disaster Emergency Management Services DEMS continues to investigate the blaze of an industrial factory that went in flames after a huge explosion at 45 Power and Railway street in Germiston on Friday night.

It is reported that upon the DEMS arrival, flames were over the roof and fire was already spreading to the neighboring company. It is assumed that the machinery operator was working on the furnace burning tyres during the explosion.

DEMS spokesperson Eric Maloka says one machinery operator was found with severe burn wounds and was taken to the nearest hospital.

One machinery operator was transported to nearest medical facility with severe burns wounds. We are saying now the fire is well contained. They have connected the water from the hydrant next to the company and they are using the relay system. Theyve connected the main pumper and that is the tanker that was just close to the scene. They have used four pumper to attack the fire, right now the fire is contained.
