Ek Introduces 'telemedicine Station' For Emergency Care

Emirates, in collaboration with Parsys Telemedicine, has launched an advanced inflight telemedicine station enhancing onboard medical care.
With a U2,4 million R44m investment, this system will be deployed across 300 aircraft in the coming years.
The new Parsys Telemedicine Kit enables cabin crew to collect passengers' vital signs using devices such as a pulse oximeter, thermometer, blood pressure monitor, glucometer and electrocardiogram.
This data is transmitted via Bluetooth to the Medcapture device, which relays information to Emirates 24/7 Ground Medical Support team in Dubai. The system also allows real-time video consultations with medical professionals, ensuring immediate expert guidance.
The system has already proven effective and is in use onboard some aircraft. On a recent flight to Lyon, Emirates cabin crew used the Parsys MedCapture device to manage a passengers cardiovascular emergency. Real-time data transmission and expert input from the ground team facilitated prompt and informed medical intervention.
