An eighth police officer, also attached to the Public Order Unit has been arrested in connection with the extortion incident at two Chinese shops in Milnerton, Cape Town.
Seven officers were arrested on Sunday in the same incident.
Police spokesperson Andre Traut says that the investigation is still underway.
Detectives are preparing the case docket for the suspects court appearance in Cape Town Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The suspects will face charges of extortion, business robbery and corruption.
