Egypt and Al Ahly legend Ahmed Fathi has retired from professional football at the age of 39.
Considered by some as one of Africas best-ever full-backs, Fathi helped Egypt win three AFCON titles and also lifted four CAF Champions League trophies with Al Ahly.
Fathi, who could also play as a midfielder, had two spells in England turning out for Sheffield United in the Premier League and Hull City in the Championship.
Pyramids confirmed that the Umm Salal and Kazma SC player had retired after helping the the team clinch the 2023/24 Egyptian Cup.
