Eff Request Withdrawal Of Budget Report Ahead Of Parliamentary Debate

The Economic Freedom FightersEFF say they have written to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Thoko Didiza, requesting for the urgent withdrawal of the report on the 2025 fiscal framework in Parliament this afternoon.

On Tuesday, the Standing Committee on Finance adopted its report on the budget that was tabled to the National Assembly last month.

The committee adopted a report with recommendations from ActionSA which includes that Treasury must be given 30 days to come up with alternatives to tax hikes while scrapping the 0,5 point VAT hike and adjusting personal income tax brackets.

This report is due to be tabled and debated in the House this afternoon.

Members of Parliament will then vote on whether to adopt it or not.
