Economic Freedom Fighters EFF leader Julius Malema expressed confidence that the party will prevail in the Phala Phala farm theft case against President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Constitutional Court. The EFF is challenging Parliament's decision to forgo an impeachment investigation into the president regarding the alleged theft at his Phala Phala farm.
Speaking to supporters outside the apex court, Malema emphasized that the Constitutional Court must make a legitimate and constitutional decision on the matter. He argued that Parliament's actions must align with the Constitution and that any decision that contradicts constitutional requirements should be reviewed by the Constitutional Court. Malema asserted that this was not a matter of political interference but rather the Court's responsibility to ensure that Parliament upholds the Constitution.
The EFF's challenge aims to have the Court intervene and ensure that the necessary impeachment investigation into President Ramaphosa is conducted, based on the findings of the Section 89 panel report.
