Ec Police Searching For Suspects Following Fatal Shooting Incident

Eastern Cape police have opened a case of murder and attempted murder after a shooting incident in Gqeberha on Saturday left one person dead and another injured.

Police spokesperson Sandra Janse Van Rensburg says officers responded to a complaint in Korsten.

She says they found the driver of a vehicle had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

"It is alleged that at approximately 10:45, SAPS Algoa Park responded to a complaint at the corner of Essex Street and Kotrel Street, Korsten. On arrival they found a white Toyota LDV with one male in the drivers seat with multiple gunshot wounds," says Van Rensburg.

"A second victim was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. It is further alleged that two unknown suspect/s passed the LDV and started shooting at the deceased and thereafter the suspect/s walked away. The motive and the suspects are unknown, and the investigation is ongoing," adds Van Rensburg.
