Ec Government Vows To Fight Scourge Of Mass Killings
Eastern Cape MEC for Community Safety, Xolile Nqatha, says government has put measures in place to fight the scourge of mass killings in the province.
He was speaking at the funeral of five members of the Seti family who were gunned down at Ncenjana village near Bityi outside Mthatha in the Eastern Cape two- weeks ago.
An elderly couple, a daughter and two grandchildren were gunned down by heavily armed assailants.
Nqatha also said that government is committed to seeking justice for the family and community.
As I stand here, suspects were arrested on this matter, and police are ensuring that evidence is put together to secure a successful conviction so that justice can be secured for the family and also for the people of the province.
