The Eastern Cape Provincial Government will hold a mass funeral on Saturday for the five Seti family members who were murdered at Ncenjana Village in Bityi last week.
Two people have been arrested and are facing five counts of murder and two of attempted murder.
Eastern Cape government spokesperson Khuselwa Rantjie says different leaders will be attending the funeral in support of the bereaved families.
This tragic event is part of a disturbing trend of mass shootings in the province, which have alarmed communities and highlighted the urgent need to address violent crime. Premier Oscar Mabuyane expressed deep concern, condemning these senseless acts of violence that claim innocent lives, disrupt families and instill fear among residents. The province has welcomed the arrest of two suspects linked to the Bityi murder.
