Eastern Cape Says Its Making Strides In Fighting Corruption
The Eastern Cape Provincial government says it has made significant strides in its fight against corruption.
The province hosted an event in Kwazakhele in Gqeberha today, commemorating International Anti-Corruption Day , which is celebrated worldwide.
The event saw many government and private sector entities coming together to mobilise communities to take a stand against corruption.
Arts and Culture MEC Sibulele Ngongo says the government has reduced conflict of interest cases by 90.
"One of the most important things is a committee responsible for financial disclosures for the SMS level officials of government departments, as well as the political leadership. This has yielded good results."
