Eastern Cape Officials Probe Triple Rape Cases At Private Schools

Eastern Cape Social Development MEC Bukiwe Fanta has expressed concern over reports that three children were allegedly raped at private schools in Matatiele .
Speaking during a visit to the area alongside Minister in the Presidency for Women, Children, and Persons with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, Fanta condemns the incidents.
The victims, including a six-year-old boy, were reportedly subjected to brutal assaults last year.
Fanta says there must be monitoring and evaluation at all schools, whether private or public.
She says, I want to indicate there are three kids that were brutally raped, one six-year-old boy child, two are girl children from two independent schools. One girl child and a boy child are from Vuka Rise Independent School. So today we are here and we want to highlight that we are shocked of what is happening, where we think school is a safe place for kids but now they are where they are raped.
