Durban Flood Victims Moved To Temporary Emergency Accommodation

The National Human Settlements Department says some flood victims in Durban have been moved from a community hall to temporary emergency accommodation.

The department says in a statement that 47 households have been moved to the new accommodation site - in a joint operation with the provincial government and the eThekwini Municipality.

The households mainly from a Lamontville transit camp in the south of Durban where victims of the 2022 floods were moved are now in a community hall in Chatsworth.

Minister Thembi Simelane is expected to visit flood-hit areas in the province next week. Extreme Weather Floods cause devastation in parts of KZN
