The Miami Dolphins appear to have a clear objective for 2025: to strengthen their presence in the trenches and add toughness along the line of scrimmage.

Miami moved up in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday night, swinging a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders to select Arizona offensive tackle/ guard Jonah Savaiinaea with the No. 37 overall pick.

Miami sent picks No. 48, 98 and 135 to Las Vegas in exchange for Nos. 37 and 143, bolstering their offensive front a day after drafting Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant in the first round.

The Dolphins announced Savaiinaea as a guard onstage in Green Bay, a position the team hopes he can solidify to help keep quarterback Tua Tagovailoa upright.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman played both guard and tackle during his career with the Wildcats and earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors in 2022 and 2023. He also picked up an All-Big-12 honorable mention in 2024 as part of Arizona's conference shift.
