American rapper Doja Cat will be the first headline act for the 2025 Hey Neighbour Festival in what would be her first ever visit to South Africa.

The Say So and Kiss Me More hitmaker, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, has roots in Mzansi. Her father is the legendary Sarafina actor Dumisani Dlamini.

Hey Neighbour: Season 2 will take place from 29 to 31 August 2025 at the Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria, with Doja Cat as its first headliner.

In a statement on Thursday 27 March, the festivals CEO Glen Netshipise said they were beyond excited to welcome the global superstar.

"Her energy, creativity and ability to connect with audiences on a global scale make her the perfect artist to kick off what will be an epic festival lineup. This is just the beginning-we have more incredible acts to reveal soon!" he added.

Phase 1 tickets for the festival are now on sale on the Hey Neighbour website . The events promotional video is available to watch on Instagram .

Doja Cats dad, Dlamini, and mother, Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer, had a brief relationship in the 1990s, according to a People report.

She and her brother, Raman Dalithando Dlamini, grew up in New York and California with their mom. In an interview with Radio One D.C. in 2020, she admitted to not knowing her dad very well.
