Doh Says Public To Take Precautions After Three Mpox Cases Detected

The Department of Health DOH has urged the public not to panic, but to take precautions after three new Mpox cases were detected.

The cases were confirmed in Ekurhuleni on Gautengs East Rand. Theyve been traced back to a patient who recently travelled to Uganda.

The patient was diagnosed with a type of Mpox virus currently circulating in the Democratic Republic of Congo DRC and Uganda.

Health Department spokesperson, Foster Mogale says those who suspect they have contracted the disease must seek urgent medical attention, "

"There is no need for the public to panic, but people are urged to remain cautious of how mpox spreads and to seek help when faced with symptoms of mpox.
