Dj Sbu Resigns As 'radio 2000' Host

Sbusiso Leope, best known as DJ Sbu , has announced his resignation as host of Radio 2000 s The Big Breakfast Show , which airs weekdays between 06:00 and 09:00.

The popular media personality quits just a year after joining the stations lineup and one month before his contract ends on 30 March 2025.

In a media statement on Monday 24 February, DJ Sbu said his decision came after much reflection and consideration.

This choice has not been an easy one, as my time at Radio 2000 has been filled with invaluable experiences, cherished memories and the joy of connecting with our wonderful audience. I am deeply grateful for the support I have received from my colleagues, management and, most importantly, our loyal listeners, he added.

I am preparing for a brand-new breakfast morning show that I am excited to launch on a different platform starting from April 1, 2025. This new opportunity presents a fresh chapter in my career, and I am eager to embrace the possibilities that lie ahead.

He however did not reveal what his new platform will be. His return to radio last year came after almost a decade away.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Your encouragement and engagement have meant the world to me, and I look forward to staying connected with you in my future endeavours. I wish Radio 2000 continued success in the years to come, he concluded.
