Diego Cocca Fired By Real Valladolid Following String Of Defeats

Real Valladolid has dismissed Argentine coach Diego Cocca after a turbulent two-month spell at the club, which is owned by Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario.

Cocca, who took over from Paulo Pezzolano in December, managed only one win and suffered six defeats, leaving the team with just 15 points from 24 La Liga matches.

After a disheartening 4-0 loss to Sevilla on Sunday, the club is now facing an uphill battle to avoid relegation, trailing the safe zone by eight points with 14 games remaining.

Ronaldo, who holds a 51 stake in the club, is reportedly planning to sell his share and is also a candidate for the role of president of the Brazilian Football Confederation.
