Diamond Dealer Louis Liebenberg, Co-accused To Apply For Bail

Diamond dealer Louis Liebenberg , his wife Desiree and four co-accused are expected to apply for bail when their case resumes in the Bronkhorstspruit M agistrate s C ourt in Gauteng .

They face charges of fraud, money laundering, theft and racketeering.

Initially, nine suspects were arrested in Gauteng and North West in connection with the multi-million rand diamond scam.

However, three of the accused were granted bail ranging from R20 000 to R100 000 each during their first court appearance last Thursday.

Liebenberg allegedly advertised unpolished diamonds on social media and invited potential investors to invest in his business, with a promise of lucrative returns.
