Desantis Creates Florida Doge Task Force

As Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency make waves in Washington, Governor Ron DeSantis said he will start a similar effort in Florida.

In Tampa on Monday, DeSantis announced that a newly created DOGE Task Force will take a closer look at spending by state government, universities and even by local government.

"I am excited by this effort, to take some of what we've seen in Washington, that they're doing with Elon Musk to apply it to Florida. In both our local government and our universities," said DeSantis.

DeSantis said hundreds of state positions could be cut. He said he hopes to emulate Musk, who has recently seen what he called the "chainsaw for bureaucracy."
