defence in meyiwa case grills forensic analyst

Defence counsel Zandile Mshololo says it took several ballistic analysts to verify Colonel Chris Mangenas findings, as the results from the bullets fired from the alleged Senzo Meyiwa murder weapon, were inconclusive.

Mangena linked the firearm seized from accused number three, Mthobisi Mncube to the bullet found on the crime scene, after firing several test bullets.

Mncube and four others are on trial at the High Court in Pretoria for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.

Advocate Mshololo has grilled chief forensic analyst Edward Sereo about the bullet markings which are similar to human fingerprints.

Msholo: "The reason why the additional two analysts were asked to do the verification is because you had not reached an agreement, and your report was inconclusive because you did not have sufficient individual striation [marks] to merge with the exhibit.
