Deadline Extended For South Africa's R100 Billion Bee Fund

deadline extended for south africas r100 billion bee fund

The Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Parks Tau has announced an extension for public comments on the Draft Transformation Fund Concept Document, shifting the deadline from 7 May 2025 to 28 May 2025.

This notable delay of 15 days is driven by a surge in public interest surrounding the proposed R100 billion fund, which aims to bolster support for black-owned businesses and Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises SMMEs across the nation, Cape town Etc reports.

The department made it clear that the extension is necessary to ensure all stakeholders have adequate time to provide feedback.

It will also give time to organisations and various structures to consult their members to provide inputs, views and comments that will strengthen the concept, the department stated, underscoring the funds critical role in South Africas economic landscape.

Designed to accelerate economic transformation for historically disadvantaged communities, the fund seeks to create a flourishing environment for majority black-owned businesses.
