Questions are being raised about the future of the Government of National Unity GNU with some saying its on shaky ground after the Democratic Alliance DA voted against the 2025 budget.

The party says it will challenge the budget that Members of Parliament passed yesterday.

194 MPs voted in favour of the budget and 182 against it.

The DA has argued that its legal action rests on challenging the procedure that the Finance Committee used to approve the Fiscal Framework and the constitutionality of certain measures used to collect revenue.

The party has accused all the political parties that have voted in favour of the passing of the 2025/2026 Fiscal Framework and Revenue Proposal as handing over power back to the ANC.
