Da In Mpumalanga Welcomes Siu Probe Into Dept Of Healths Affairs

The Democratic Alliance DA in Mpumalanga has welcomed the Special Investigating Unit SUIs investigation into the affairs of the provincial Department of Health.

This after, President Cyril Ramaphosa signed a proclamation, directing the SIU to investigate allegations of corruption and maladministration.

The Special Investigating Units probe will focus on financial spending and procurement services at the health department dating back to 2014.

It is the second time within two years that Mpumalangas Department of Health finds itself under a SIUs investigation.

Recently, the SIU obtained a preservation order to freeze almost R2 million from the pension fund of a former assistant director and manager of the departments pharmaceutical services.
