The Department of Science, Technology, and Innovation has stated that the Science Forum South Africa event provides an excellent opportunity to highlight South Africa as a leading destination for research and innovation.
More than 5,000 participants are attending the weeklong event at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research CSIR convention centre in Pretoria.
The forum aims to spark engaging discussions on the role of science in society, bringing together stakeholders from the scientific community, government, industry, and civil society.
Vinny Pillay, Chief Director of the Department, explained, "What's crucial for the South African government is that it places science, technology, and innovation at the core of addressing our challenges. This is becoming increasingly important, and the Science Forum South Africa is key in promoting South Africa as a hub for research, development, and innovation."
