Cristiano Ronaldo Set To Surpass Odion Ighalo's Record In Saudi Arabia

cristiano ronaldo set to surpass odion ighalos record in saudi arabia

Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo is set to overtake Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo as the eighth-highest goalscorer in Saudi Arabia Pro League history,

Ighalo has made a big name for himself in Saudi Arabia. The Nigerian striker has been playing in Saudi since 2021. He has featured for top clubs like Al Hilal, Al Shabab, and Al Wehda where he is now. He also won the Saudi Cup and the Saudi Arabian League with Al Hilal.

Ighalo was also the highest goalscorer in the league in the 2021/22 season. In his four years in Saudi Arabia, Ighalo has scored 72 goals in the Saudi Pro League and is eighth on the highest goalscorers chart.

However, Portuguese star Ronaldo is threatening to usurp him. The former Real Madrid legend scored a brace in Al Nassrs 3-1 win over Al Hilal last weekend, and that took his Saudi Pro League tally to 70.

Al Nassr have an easy fixture against Al Riyadh next weekend, and if Ronaldo scores two or more goals, he could surpass Ighalo who hasnt been firing on all cylinders. The Nigerian striker has scored only two goals this year, so it is likely that Ighalo wont meet up again once Ronaldo surpasses his record.
