Lactalis South Africa has officially received the nod from the Competition Commission for its ambitious acquisition of Cremora, one of the countrys most cherished brands in the coffee creamer market, Cape town Etc reports.
This move marks a significant milestone not only for Lactalis but also for countless South African households that have relied on Cremora for nearly eight decades.
The acquisition, which was announced on Wednesday, encompasses both the well-known brand and its associated production facilities located in Babelegi, Gauteng, and Potchefstroom, North West.
Lactalis South Africa, the local arm of the French multinational dairy giant Lactalis Group, is keen to leverage its portfolio of popular products-including President, Parmalat, Melrose, and Steri Stumpie to enhance its offerings with Cremora.
Cremora, a fixture in the South African coffee-drinking culture since its launch in 1961, has built a loyal customer base that is estimated to include one in five coffee drinkers across the nation. Its catchy slogan, It's not inside, it's on top, has firmly embedded the brand into the fabric of everyday life.
