court dismisses amabomvanas bid for principal chieftaincy

The Eastern Cape High Court in Mthatha has dismissed with costs the AmaBomvana nations application to be bestowed with principal chieftaincy.

This comes after the nation went to court in November last year to compel the Provincial Government as well as President Cyril Ramaphosa to bestow principal chieftaincy to King Gambushes great-grandson, Chief Thandabantu Gwebindlala.

Gwebindlala says they are not satisfied with the dismissal of their application.

He says, "We are obviously not happy that the court has seen it fit to decline us. We have browsed through the court decision as a whole, already there are certain points that we feel that they need a review. We will be talking to our lawyers so that they can give us a detailed account of the court order, then we will take it from there in terms of how do we proceed.
