A coalition of trade unions and social movements is expected to march to Parliament today against government-proposed budget cuts.
The action comes amid fears of further budget cuts, reduced social spending, and increased economic strain on the working class.
Speakers at the event will include former anti-apartheid activist the Reverend Allan Boesak, SAFTU General Secretary Zwlinzima Vavi and COSATU president Zingiswa Losi.
A memorandum of demands will be handed over to government.
