Former Free State and South African fast bowler, Corrie van Zyl is the new chief executive officer of the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA).
He has signed a five-year contract.
An effective swing bowler in his playing days, Van Zyl has extensive experience in cricket administration, having held various roles for Cricket South Africa and also served as a franchise coach in South Africa.
Johannes Adams, WPCA president, said the appointment was exciting.
WPCA is therefore privileged to have a person of the calibre of Corrie van Zyl to lead the organization at a key juncture on its journey to be the pre-eminent cricket union in South Africa, Adams said in a press release.
