Convicted Murderer Najwa Petersen To Have Parole Hearing

The parole hearing for the murder-convicted Najwa Dirk Petersen is expected to take place at Pollsmoor Correctional Centre on Wednesday.

She has spent 18 years behind bars for the 2006 murder of her husband, musician and theatre legend, Taliep Petersen.

One of Taliep Petersens daughters from a previous marriage, Fatima Petersen says they are on a journey of healing.

In my healing journey it has been interesting to see the humanness to her and the humanness to our judicial system, so it has been interesting with lots of learnings. We are essentially wanting to hold everyone accountable in this entire process to make sure that we are making the right decisions for everyone.
