A convicted felon was sentenced to 12 years in prison after a Valentine's Day shooting at the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens, authorities confirmed Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon handed down the sentence to 29-year-old Devon Jamal Graham, who previously pleaded guilty to several charges, including illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, drug trafficking, and possession of fentanyl and cocaine with intent to distribute, according to investigators.

Authorities said Graham and a second man, 29-year-old Kamarcio Mitchell, each had guns with them at the mall on Feb. 14.

Mitchell, who was seen on the second level of the mall, followed Graham onto an escalator, reportedly manipulating an object under his shirt, according to police.

Graham then shot Mitchell, who fled the scene, leaving a trail of blood to the parking lot, authorities confirmed.
