Controversy As Makhadzi Offers Financial Aid Primarily To University Of Venda Students
Music sensation Makhadzi has faced backlash after announcing on social media her plan to offer financial assistance to 20 South African students, the majority of whom are from the University of Venda.
The Limpopo-born artist announced on her social media platforms on January 29 that she will offer financial assistance to 20 students in South Africa through the Makhadzi Student Registration Initiative, aimed at helping those who need support with their registration fees.
Makhadzi urged students nationally to send their proof of registration as well as a motivation letter to explain why they need the financial assistance.
This act of kindness has shown how students nationally suffer during this time of the year, especially when it comes to paying their registration fees.
In just 24 hours, the 28-year-old provided an update and revealed that they have received over 5, 000 applications and chose the 20 students that will be assisted.
