Contractors Appointed To Seal Roofs At Sebokeng Hospital

The Gauteng Department of Health has announced that contractors have been appointed to seal the roofs of the affected wards at Sebokeng Hospital in the Vaal, following damage caused by heavy rainfall this week.

The roof and ceiling in three wards were damaged, leading to a blockage in the storm drainpipe. A plumber was called to the site and discovered that the blockage was caused by soil and rocks obstructing the drainage system.

In addition, contractors have been tasked with sealing the roofs of wards 5, 6, 7, and the connecting passage. According to department spokesperson Motalatale Modiba, the roof sealing has already been completed in the three affected wards, and the damaged roofing sheets are currently being replaced.
