Officials from the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy have briefed Parliaments Electricity and Energy Committee on progress made in the Solar Water Heaters installation programme.
The project to have one million Solar Water Heaters was launched in 2009 and government has missed the target of having them installed by 2014.
It aimed to reduce the countrys energy constraints.
The department has installed 58 000 solar hot water geysers out of the 87 000.
The project manager, Elizabeth Marabwa explains what some of the challenges were.
