Closing Arguments To Be Heard In Omotoso, Co-accused Trial

The High Court in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape is expected to hear closing arguments in the case of pastor Timothy Omotoso this morning.

Omotoso and two co-accused Lusanda Sulani and Zukiswa Sitho are facing over 30 charges that include rape, human trafficking, and racketeering.

Since Omotosos arrest in 2017, the case has seen many twists and turns, from judge recusals to multiple bail applications, applications for mistrials and kicking counsels off the case.

Omotoso and his two co-accused originally faced over 90 charges relating to rape, human trafficking and racketeering.

Now, seven years later, their defense lawyer Peter Daubermann had got it down to 32 charges.
