Described as one of Cape Towns most ambitious infrastructure projects as of yet, the V A Waterfront has furthered its plans for development in a mammoth project to reclaim land from the sea.
Construction for the project will begin in 2025 and the landscape of the Granger Bay area will be permanently reshaped, Cape town Etc reports.
Cape Town has a longstanding history of pushing the ocean back to avail more land for development. Examples of this include the Foreshore as well as the waterfront.
In line with this rich history, the V A Waterfront has submitted its rezoning application to the City of Cape Town to reclaim an additional 44 000 square metres of development rights.
The head of public relations at the V A Waterfront, Donald Kau, confirmed that the development plan will be rolled out in phases.
