Samuel Chukwueze made history in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night, becoming one of the few Nigerian players to score multiple goals in a single game in the competition. The Super Eagles winger delivered an exceptional performance, netting a brace in AC Milan's dominant 6-1 victory over Sassuolo in the Round of 16 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Chukwueze opened the scoring in the 12th minute and doubled his tally just nine minutes later with a superb first-time finish. His outstanding display cemented his place among Nigerian footballing legends in the competition.
Historically, no Nigerian player has been more prolific in the Coppa Italia than former Inter Milan forward Obafemi Martins. The ex-Super Eagles striker scored nine goals in just 16 appearances, including a memorable hat-trick in Inter's 3-1 victory over Bologna in 2005.
