Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj Love African Culture Davido
Nigerian music star Davido has shared that American artists Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj have a deep admiration for African culture and music. During a recent interview with Hot 107.9 FM in Atlanta, Davido revealed that both artists prefer to infuse Afrobeats into their collaborations rather than sticking to traditional Western styles.
He highlighted his recent work with Nicki Minaj on the track "If It's Okay," which was heavily influenced by Afrobeats. According to Davido, Minaj specifically wanted to incorporate "full African flavor" into the song. He also spoke about his collaboration with Chris Brown on "Sensational," where Brown pushed for more Afrobeats elements, even asking Davido to sing in Pidgin. In the music video, African dancers also played a prominent role, and they later toured with Chris Brown.
Davido emphasized that foreign artists are increasingly drawn to African musical styles, making it easier for him to collaborate with them. Both Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj, he noted, have a strong respect for African culture and music.
