Chinwe Eboh Records New Feat With Nnewi The Land Of Gold

Playwright, actor and producer, Chinwe Eboh, has broken records with her yet-to-be released movie, Nnewi, the Land of Gold bagging 14 nominations in the forthcoming Nollywood Toronto Film Festival.

The festival is slated to take place in Toronto, Canada in September this year. The nominations bagged by the film include, Best Nollywood Drama, Best supporting Actress, Best supporting Actor, Best Actor Africa, Best Supporting Actor African. Others are Best Actor African film, Best Actress African film, Best Hair and Makeup, Best Art Director, Best Cinematographer, Best African Female Filmmaker and Best Director Africa.

The film is an epic, which tells the story of Edo Nnewi, the goddess and progenitor of the industrial Igbo community that blessed Nnewi and made it prosperous. The people give credit for their successes in business and other spheres of life to Edo, the Nnewi goddess.

Written through research, interviews and study of history, Chinwe Eboh produced the movie with the assistance of Nnewi natives such as the Executive Producer, Prince Ife Nwafor-Orizu and Elder Nnanyi Anyanwugo, a custodian of tradition and culture. Its an exploration of Africas historical film that brings to bear the communal nature of the Nnewi people, its unity, origin and industry.
